Homeland Security
Here in Northeast Colorado, issues of Homeland Security are managed through the Northeast Colorado All-Hazards Emergency Management Region (NEAHR). Formed by executive order by the State of Colorado, the Northeast Region is a partnership of 11 counties, from Larimer County in the west to Cheyenne County in the south. Click here for a regional map. The Northeast Region is lead by a committee of discipline representatives from emergency management, fire service, law enforcement, EMS, public health, emergency communications, public works and county commissions. The Northeast Region collaborates on a number of projects, exercises, as well as the annual State Homeland Security Grant (SHSG), the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP), and Regional Citizen Corps activities. Projects, grants, and exercises are managed by the NEAHR Homeland Security Coordinator.
The State All-Hazards Advisory Committee (SAHAC) provides advice to the Colorado Departments of Local Affairs, Public Safety, and Public Health and Environment on matters related to all hazards emergency management and homeland security. For more
